New Release – Wait For Me by Tia Louise

WAIT FOR ME

By Tia Louise

Release Day: December 17

Blurb

Dear Taron,
I should have told you this before…

Dear Taron,
Is there a time-limit on forgiveness?
If there is, I haven’t reached it…

Dear Taron,
I still love you…

Taron Rhodes was my brotherโ€™s best friend.

He was sexy as sin.

But he was more than thatโ€ฆ

He was ponytail-pulling, ice down your shirt teasing, throw you in the lake screamingโ€ฆ

Strong, tanned arms and bright green eyes over a heart-stopping, naughty grinโ€ฆ

Did I mention his tight end?

I gave him my first real kiss, my heart, my everything.

I said Iโ€™d wait for himโ€ฆ

Iโ€™m still waiting, because Taron Rhodes is still the man of my dreams,

And I have a secret that has his bright green eyes.

Noel LaGrange stole my heart when she was only eighteenโ€”pushing me off a flatbed and calling me a city slicker.

Her brother Sawyer would kick my ass if he knew how many times we made out that summer, how close we got.

Everything changed when Sawyer and I joined the military.

We were honorably discharged, but I didnโ€™t go to her.

Instead, I went back to the cityโ€ฆ where no amount of money, no amount of pills can heal this wound.

Only her whiskey eyes and dark hair, her slim arms and her sweet scent, give me hope.

I broke her heart just as surely as I broke mine, but Iโ€™m going back to make it right.

If sheโ€™s still waitingโ€ฆ

(WAIT FOR ME is a STAND-ALONE small-town, second-chance romance with a guaranteed HEA. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Title: Rules

Series: Greyford High

Author: Anna B. Doe

Release: November 8, 2019

Genre: Mature YA/NA Sports Romance

Goodreads: http://bit.ly/RulesTBR

Blurb:

Senior year.

Three girls. Three guys.

Truth and consequence.

Broken trust and shattered hearts.

Lost innocence and new experiences.

One more year before running away.

One more year to save her.

The countdown begins.

When Maximillian Sanders moved to Greyford, he had three goals: mend the broken relationship with his sister, keep her safe, and get into a division one college, playing hockey. There he meets the girl who breaks his heart and turns his world upside down, and it’s her best friend who helps pick up the pieces.

Brook Taylor learned the hard way that in order to survive this ugly world, she needed to live by her own rules. Then she meets Max and for the first time, sheโ€™s tempted to break them. Heโ€™s off limits, and she has a plan that doesn’t include a hot hockey player.

He says he wants her, but she can see the truth in his eyes. She should have just followed her rules and guarded her heart.

Those three little rules were supposed to save her, until she broke them all.

Review

Rules is the third and final book in the Greyford High series. Can I just start off with OMG!! Boy what a story. I had no idea what to expect starting this story, but boy did it turn out to better than probably anything I wouldโ€™ve expected.

Brook Taylor is a survivor. Sheโ€™s Ameliaโ€™s best friend. But she keeps a lot to herself which is understandable considering she hasnโ€™t had the best of lives. Her mother isnโ€™t going to be winning the mother of the year award anytime soon. No father. She doesnโ€™t like bothering people with her problems, so she rather just try to fix them all by herself. Keeping everyone at a distance and not letting anyone get to close.

Max Sanders is new to Greyford. He is Jeanetteโ€™s twin brother. A bad boy hockey player. Who really is a sweetheart with a huge heart. Heโ€™s just trying to finish his senior year, fix his relationship with his sister, and get accepted into a division one college. In love with a girl who doesnโ€™t feel the same from him.

But one drunken night changes things between these two. Leading for a story full of angst and growth Secrets are revealed. Some shocking ones that I never wouldโ€™ve thought of. These two are completely different. Yet both broken. Can they both get past their pasts and move on?
It had me on an emotional roller coaster complete with all the turns and loops. I just loved this series. It was raw and heartbreaking. Just simply beautiful. A page turner from beginning to end. Filled with struggles, love, and loyalty. This is one must read.

Review

I absolutely love stories about the second generation. Being back at the Circle B Ranch and with the Bishops once again is just the greatest thing. Love getting to see all the babies grown up and finding their own ones. I just donโ€™t know how these two do it. They get me so captivated in these stories that I finish them before I even know it. I absolutely love it.

Riley Bishop is River and Alexโ€™s son. He is such a sweetheart. Confident and determined. He works on the family ranch. I absolutely love his friendship with Diesel. They are hilarious together.
Zoey Mitchell is the black sheep of her family. She feels invisible. Always trying to please her parents. Sheโ€™s a more go with the flow kind of girl. Not wanting to follow in her familyโ€™s footsteps of living the grand life. She has instead gone and become a hairdresser.

These two meets in a Vegas and bam instant connection. Spending the rest of the night partying and living it up. A dare later and these two wake up the next morning married. When they wake up the next morning realizing just that they both decide to go their own ways and leave it up to fate. But a few months later Zoey shows up at the Circle B Ranch wanting to give their marriage a chance. I guess the saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas didnโ€™t quite go for these two. Riley of course agrees trying everything to make Zoey fall for him. Can he do it?

This book is sweet. An amazing read. Focusing on these two getting two each other and grow as a couple. Of course, there is some obstacles/drama. A real page turner. Canโ€™t wait for the next book.

Their greatest risk was the one they never took โ€ฆ

Defying Gravity, an all-new emotional sports romance from USA Today bestselling author K.K. Allen is available now!

It was an accidental spring fling three years agoโ€”one week spent in the mountains of Big Sur and no one was the wiser. Ignore the fact that Tobias James was my neighbor and my best friendโ€™s older brother. Or that upon our return his hoop dreams were waiting for him, robbing us of any potential future we could have shared.

Now, Iโ€™m fulfilling my own dreams in L.A. and my biggest dream of all is about to come true. The last thing I expected was for my past and my present to collide.

Not now. Not here. Not him.

But he struts back into my life like he never even left. Unfortunately, Iโ€™ll never forget what happened after he did.

The ball is in my court, but Tobias isnโ€™t below stealingโ€”my power, my resolve, my heartโ€ฆ When he wants a second chance to reignite our connection, my answer is simple. We canโ€™t.

Excerpt:

โ€œWhere can we find the best view in Los Angeles?โ€

I had to think about that one. Every trail Iโ€™d hiked in the area ended with a gorgeous view, but I didnโ€™t think a hike was what heโ€™d had in mind. That gave me an idea. โ€œGriffith Observatory has some nice views. Not sure how parking is this time of night.โ€ I was still thinking. โ€œOr thereโ€™s always Canyon Lake Drive.โ€

The look he gave me next wrapped a string around my heart and tugged gently. โ€œSomewhere you havenโ€™t been with a dude.โ€

Forcing back my smile, I grabbed his phone. โ€œDrive. Iโ€™ll program the directions so I can enjoy the ride.โ€

I tried to ignore the pleased look on his face when I blushed at his request, but it was almost impossible to ignore him when I handed back his phone and my fingers accidentally brushed his. Our eyes connected on a beat, the electricity so charged between us that I felt the vibration throughout my body.

We rode the rest of the way in silence, like we both knew the conversation to come was a big one. Besides that, neither of us was a fan of small talk. Maybe that was why weโ€™d always gotten along so well. We preferred hours of comfortable silence to awkward conversation. It made each moment we were together meaningful.

โ€œAlmost there,โ€ he said once we were on Western Canyon Drive. โ€œWhere should I park?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™ll keep going up the hill. Park on West Observatory Road. Youโ€™ll see the line of cars. I usually find a spot up close, butโ€”โ€ I made a face as I looked around his truck. โ€œMy car is three times smaller than this.โ€ I grinned at him. โ€œYou might want to park about a half mile away.โ€

He chuckled. I didnโ€™t understand why until he continued driving past where I recommended and almost reached the top of the hill, when he slowed. Just then, like fucking magic, a large truck was pulling out of a parallel parking spot, leaving it vacant.

โ€œYou are kidding me.โ€

He laughed again and parked with ease. Growing up in Malibu didnโ€™t give us many opportunities for parallel parking, but I was certain heโ€™d had his fair share of chances to get it right in Chicago.

I hopped out of the truck just as he made it to my side. โ€œSo impatient to hang out with me.โ€

I rolled my eyes. โ€œKeep dreaming, James.โ€

He rolled his head back, grinning. โ€œYou realize there are women out there dreaming about a night just like this, right?โ€

I hoped he could feel the heat of my glare. โ€œYou donโ€™t say.โ€

His lips pressed together like he was biting back a smile, then he took my hand in his and tugged me forward. โ€œLetโ€™s move. We have to make it before sunset.โ€

This time, silence didnโ€™t fill our gaps. It dissipated with the first view we encountered before ever reaching the observatory.

โ€œWow.โ€ I tugged away from him and walked to the balcony of the outlook.

As I stared out over trees and rock mountains, I had an epiphany. Taking Tobias here conveyed an unspoken promise that Iโ€™d never shared the same space with another man. I hadnโ€™t even questioned the intimacy of what that meant, because it felt natural, just like everything with Tobias, even when the world was trying to pull us apart.

My choice had always been Tobias, even when he wasnโ€™t around for me to choose. My heart still belonged to him.

A breeze whooshed by, tossing my hair. I breathed into the wind as it continued to beat against me, like the week hadnโ€™t been enough for me to endure. And then strong arms wrapped around me from behind as my insides softened to putty. It had been only a week of knowing Tobias was back in town to stay, and I already knew I was in trouble.

Neither of us dared a word as he held me there, the hills of LA a beautiful sight before us, but it was his touch, his breath, his nearness that stole my focus. Weโ€™d never even made it to the observatory, but I knew what his mission was in wanting to take me somewhere with a view.

It was reminiscent of the one weโ€™d shared in Big Sur, and I couldnโ€™t ignore the rush of those memories that surfaced in the moment.

We stood in silence for a long time while Tobias held all of meโ€”physically, emotionally, and metaphorically. His presence grounded me in a way that only my soul could feel. He owned me. All it took was the admission, and for the first time in a very long time, I felt at peace.

Once upon a time, Tobias had called me his moon. His rock. His strength. The one he reached for when the waters got rough. As risky as it was to admit it, I still wanted that to be true.

โ€œShould we keep going?โ€

I knew Tobias was referring to the observatory, but my response was to a different interpretation of the question.

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re going to break his heart.โ€

โ€œNo, Iโ€™m not,โ€ I say. โ€œThatโ€™s sort of the whole point. If I really thought leaving him would break his heart, then I probably wouldnโ€™t be leaving him in the first place.โ€

My best friend, Jen, does not look convinced.

Boxes fill a good half of the room. What a mess. Who knew you could accumulate so much junk in only twelve months? At least we werenโ€™t together so long that I canโ€™t remember who owns what. One year is about the sweet spot for this issue in relationships, apparently.

โ€œThe fact of the matter is, weโ€™re not in love. We have no business being engaged, let alone getting married.โ€ I sigh. โ€œHave you seen the packing tape?โ€

โ€œNo. Heโ€™s just such a nice guy.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not debating that.โ€ I climb to my feet, then head up the stairs to the second bedroom. Thomโ€™s unofficial workout room/home office. Not a room I normally go into. But it only takes a bit of rummaging to find what Iโ€™m looking for. Whatever else might be said about them, insurance assessors are organized. The bottom drawer of Thomโ€™s desk has a neat stash of stationery. I grab a couple rolls of thick tape.

โ€œAnd leaving him this wayโ€ฆโ€ Jen continues as I head back down.

โ€œHow many times have I told him we need to talk? Heโ€™s always putting it off, saying itโ€™s not a good time. And now heโ€™s away again. Iโ€™ve been messaging him for the last week and he barely replies.โ€

โ€œYou know he has to drop everything once a job comes up. I realize heโ€™s not the most exciting guy, Betty, butโ€”โ€

โ€œI know.โ€ I smack down a line of tape with extra zest, sealing the lid of the last box. In this Operation Abandon Ship Posthaste, I know Iโ€™m definitely slightly the bad guy. But not totally. Say sixty/forty. Or maybe seventy/thirty. Itโ€™s hard to tell to what degree. โ€œI do know all of that. But heโ€™s always busy with work or away on some business trip. What am I supposed to do?โ€

A sigh from Jen.

โ€œWhen you realize youโ€™ve made such a monumental mistake, itโ€™s hard to sit and wait to fix things. Nor is it fair on either of us to keep up the pretense.โ€

โ€œGuess so.โ€

โ€œAnd the fact that heโ€™s yet again made no effort to prioritize our relationship and make a little time for me in his busy schedule is just further proof that Iโ€™ve made the right choice in ending this now before it gets any more complicated. End of rant.โ€

Nothing from her.

โ€œAnyway, youโ€™re supposed to be on my side. Stop questioning me.โ€

โ€œYou wanted to get married and have children so badly.โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€ I sit back on my heels. โ€œI blame it all on playing with Ken and Barbieโ€™s dreamhouse when I was little. But it turns out that being in a relationship with the wrong person can be even lonelier than being alone.โ€

Jen and I have been friends since sharing a room in college. Weโ€™ve witnessed the bulk of each otherโ€™s dating ups and downs. For some reason, Iโ€™m the type of girl who guys will go out with, but donโ€™t tend to stick with. Apparently, Iโ€™m fuckableโ€”just not girlfriend material. Maybe itโ€™s my smart mouth. Maybe itโ€™s the whole not fitting current societal expectations of beauty i.e. Iโ€™m fat. Maybe I was born under an unlucky star. I donโ€™t know; itโ€™s their loss. Like anyone, I have my faults, but all in all, Iโ€™m awesome. And I have a lot to give. Too often in the past few months, Iโ€™ve had to keep reminding myself of this fact.

โ€œThere are just so many jerks out there,โ€ Jen says. โ€œI was happy that youโ€™d found a good one.โ€

โ€œI think Iโ€™d prefer a jerk who was genuinely into me than a nice guy phoning it in.

Honestly, Iโ€™d rather go adopt a dozen cats and settle into old age and isolation than be with someone who treats me as if Iโ€™m an afterthought.โ€

She looks at me for a long moment, then nods slowly. โ€œIโ€™m sorry it didnโ€™t work out.โ€

โ€œMe too.โ€

โ€œTime to start filling up the cars. Boy, do you owe me.โ€

I smile. โ€œThat I do.โ€

Jen stands and stretches before picking up one of the boxes labeled kitchen. โ€œI just didnโ€™t want you to do something youโ€™d regret, you know?โ€

โ€œI know. Thank you.โ€

Alone in the two-bedroom condo, everything is silent. My parting letter sits waiting on the coffee table with his name written on the front. A slight bulge in the envelope betrays the shape of my engagement ring. Itโ€™s a sweet, simple ring. One small diamond perched on a band of yellow gold. My hand feels wrong without it. Naked. They say there are different love languages and you have to take the time to learn your partnerโ€™s needs. Itโ€™s like he and I never quite got there. Or maybe Iโ€™m just crappy at relationships.

The bridal magazines Iโ€™d collected are in the trash. Perhaps I should have taken them into the florist shop where I work so someone could get some use out of them. But this feels more symbolic, more definite. My family are a couple of states away, and I have only a few of what Iโ€™d classify as good friends. Being an introvert makes it hard to meet people. A boyfriend, a husband, would mean Iโ€™m no longer alone. Someone cares about me and puts me first. At least part of the time. Only Thom doesnโ€™t any of the time, so here we are.

I tighten my ponytail of long dark hair. Then, in a rare display of dexterity that my yoga instructor would be proud of, I stack three boxes in my arms and head outside into the hot afternoon sun. Jenโ€™s Honda Civic is parked at the curb, the trunk standing open as she moves things about inside. My old Subaru sits in the driveway waiting to be filled. Birds are singing and insects chirping. Itโ€™s your typical mild autumn day in California.

Thatโ€™s when the condo blows up behind me.

Fight Dirty

Blurb

Owen Dawson is one of Eastwoodโ€™s most eligible bachelors. He could have any woman he wants, but when it comes to settling down, he only has eyes for Charlie Williams, and he blew his chance with her years ago.

While Owen is busy trying to convince everyoneโ€”and himselfโ€”that the playboy life is for him, Charlie is trying to put her life back together. After discovering her fiancรฉ was cheating on her, Charlie packs her bags, leaves her fancy New York job, and goes back to the one place she never thought sheโ€™d return to: home.

Determined to start over and stay far, far away from men, the last thing Charlie needs in her life is her first love, Owenโ€ฆand the old feelings that come rushing back the moment she lays eyes on him. While Charlie swears to avoid romance of any kind, Owen is willing to do whatever it takes to prove heโ€™s a changed man and win Charlie backโ€ฆeven if it means fighting dirty.

**FIGHT DIRTY is a second chance romance and can be read as a standalone novel.**

Quotes

  • “I had no idea how fast I’d fall for her. How deeply I’d love her. How she’d become my whole moon and stars and reason for living. until she was gone.”
  • “I want this. But I shouldn’t. It feels good when it should feel wrong.”
  • “Maybe …. maybe I’m already dead. I haven’t been living just surviving and she’s the only one who can revive my non-beating heart.”
  • “It’ll be too easy to fall back to old habits, and Owen would be a hard one to break.”
  •

    Review

Ahhhhh did you all hear my scream. I canโ€™t believe that the Dawson family series is over. Like Iโ€™m over here all emotional right now. But enough about me letโ€™s start on the book. This is a second chance at love story that I fell in love with at first read.

Owen in the past broke up with Charlie something he regrets deeply. He has lived the playboy life ever since and is the twins with Logan.

Charlie is living in New York with her fiancรฉ. Wanting to become a prestigious lawyer. Sadly (well maybe not for all) she returns home after finding out her fiancรฉ was in fact cheating on her. Who knows what may come of her being back home?

These two were high school sweethearts until Owen decided to end it. But yet they never fully got over each other. Yet fate has a way with things and these two seem to be back in each otherโ€™s lives. Can they make it work this second time around? Or are the destined to never be again?

All I have left to say is ajdnfiiiwbehve . Which in other words is my emotions after reading this book and knowing itโ€™s the last of the series. Like Emily are you sure there isnโ€™t some lost long Dawson member who was in like France or something.

REVIEW : Pitcher by Kristy Marie

    Pitcher

    Blurb

No one needs that many hookups!
Not even soon to be major league pitcher, Theo Von Bremen.
So, I help him by routinely thinning out his contact listโ€”because Iโ€™m the best roommate ever. And heโ€™s optimal baby daddy material.
    For meโ€”not Amanda 1, 2, or 3.
But since the man canโ€™t take a hint; Iโ€™ll continue to spray his sheets with my perfume and accidentally leave my panties in his laundry.
That has to be enough to break a man eventually. Right?

    Quotes

    •  ” I’m going to be devastated. Devastated. The kind you never recover from.”
    • “I hate that he makes me crazy. I hate that I care if he goes out with other girls. I hate that I love him and I’m not sure he feels the same.”
    • “She just signed a deal with the devil. Anniston McAllister is mine. All. Mine.”
    • “This friendship is either going to be a huge disaster or one of the best mistakes I’ve ever made. Turns out, it’s both.”
    • “I scare off her dates, and she deletes mine. We’re petty like that. We’re in love like that.”
  • Review

Pitcher is the prequel to Anniston and Theoโ€™s story in Commander. A quick sports romance read.

Theo is a complete alpha. Charming and cocky. A huge jerk at times especially when it comes to other guys trying to get with Anniston.

Anniston is sassy and fierce. Hasnโ€™t had the best of childhoods. But she still overcame all those obstacles thanks to Theo being there for her.

These two have been friends since they where fourteen. Both not giving in completely to the feelings that they both have for each other. Will these two finally give in to their feelings? Or will they just give up and move on?

I went through a roller coaster of emotions with this book. Moments I laughed with them others I cried and times I wanted to slap them both on the back of the head. A good start for a first time reader. Canโ€™t wait to read more of her work.
